Our Guiding Philosophy
Calvary Teaching School exists to provide a Christ-focused, innovative and practical teacher training program using the embedded practice approach to teacher education. Pre-Service Teachers are placed in a classroom from the first day of their degrees under the guidance of an experienced Mentor Teacher.
The School began with the conviction that Christian Pre-Service Teachers should be supported by a training facility that shares their values and that works in partnership with them to produce outstanding Graduate Teachers who become an influence for good in their world.

Our mission is to provide excellent opportunities for prospective teachers to develop Christian character and grow to their full potential intellectually, physically, spiritually and socially.

Calvary Teaching School is continually expanding and launching new initiatives that provide an excellent environment in which prospective teachers can succeed by finding and pursuing God’s unique purpose for their life.
Our Values
Calvary Teaching School has five key values which guide everything we do. We seek to inculcate these values in every Pre-Service Teacher at the School.
The five key values come from Jesus’ commendation to the wise stewards in Matthew 25:21 – 'Well done, good and faithful servant.
We encourage Pre-Service Teachers to achieve higher levels by continually doing the very best they can with God’s help - 'They said of Jesus: He does all things well.' (Mark 7:37).
We encourage Pre-Service Teachers to develop the resilience and confidence to overcome challenges - 'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.' (Philippians 4:13).
We encourage Pre-Service Teachers to respect and value others - 'Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.' (1 Peter 5:6).
We encourage Pre-Service Teachers to develop obedience to God’s Word and trust in His faithfulness - 'The just shall live by faith.' (Romans 1:17).
We encourage Pre-Service Teachers to see their gifts and talents as opportunities to glorify God as they serve others - 'A generous man devises generous things and by generosity he shall stand.' (Isaiah 32:8).
