Building Community: Celebrating Success
Building Community: Celebrating Success
“The best schools are not just about academics; they're about building community and fostering a sense of belonging.”
These words remind me that education is more than just test results and report cards —it’s about creating an environment where students, teachers, and families feel connected, supported, and valued. I am so proud and honoured to sit in a space where I get to watch our College grow and flourish as a space for learning and growing. Together, let’s continue to nurture a Calvary strong, culture together, where being servants, teachable, respectful, obedient, nurturing and God-centred is our practice.
I hope this message finds you well as we navigate through the continuing wet weather. Please be assured that we will continue to communicate any necessary updates regarding weather-related impacts on school operations as required. Your safety remains our priority, and we appreciate your cooperation.
We are pleased to share that our students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 have successfully navigated their NAPLAN assessments. A huge thank you to our dedicated team who managed the process so smoothly and to our students for their focus and perseverance. We look forward to receiving the results, which will help us further support our students’ learning journeys.
Last week, we took the time to reflect on and celebrate History Week! Our students have been engaged in activities that explore significant historical events, cultures, and people. It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm for understanding the past and how it shapes our present. We are also excited to next week celebrate Harmony Week, a time to recognise and appreciate the rich cultural diversity within our school community. It is an opportunity for students and team to come together, learn from one another, and celebrate the values of respect, and belonging. We encourage everyone to take part in the activities planned throughout the week and embrace the wonderful diversity that makes Calvary so special.
The swimming lessons for Years 3-6 are continuing this week. These lessons are an important part of our curriculum, ensuring students develop essential water safety skills. Please ensure your child comes prepared with the necessary swimming gear.
As we move through the term, students are completing various assessments, and teachers are providing valuable feedback. This feedback is crucial in guiding student progress, and we encourage all students to engage with it thoughtfully to enhance their learning.
Parent-Teacher Interviews are coming up soon! These meetings are a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, strengths, and areas for growth. We encourage all families to take advantage of this time to connect with teachers and collaborate in supporting student success. More details and booking instructions will be shared from the primary and secondary offices.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child’s education. Wishing you all a fantastic week ahead.
Bless you all,
Robyn Hair
