STRONG - in Prayer, Praise and Gratitude!

Last week, as has become our custom, we celebrated a powerful and uplifting Prayer Week. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in making this a meaningful time for our college community. It is always a blessing to see our team, students and families be covered in prayer, spend time in reflection, and enjoy encouragement, reinforcing our Calvary Strong culture. At Calvary we hope to always display the heart of servants, remain teachable, be respectful in all circumstances, stay obedient to scripture, build nurturing relationships, and in all circumstances be God-centred.

We concluded week 5 with a Praise and Worship gathering on the lawn, where we lifted our voices in gratitude and celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to give thanks for all that God is doing in our College.

I had the absolute joy to share pizza with the student leadership teams from both the Primary and Secondary Colleges. This was a valuable time to foster unity, mentorship, and a shared vision for leadership in our College. I am thrilled at the young people in these positions. Our Primary and Secondary Colleges are in great hands and I am excited to see what unfolds throughout this year.

Every week I am privileged to spend time at Eaton College. There we have a community of dedicated educators working tirelessly every day to bring joy to learning. They are an inspiration and I love getting over there to see the students learn life skills and enjoy their growing passion for their world and community. I encourage you to follow the Eaton College FaceBook page to keep track of their adventures.

The ebb and flow of a College our size can be a challenge and it is with sadness but also with a sense of excitement that we farewell Dr Renee Louwen-Skovdam, our Head of Learning Enrichment, who will finish up at Calvary at the end of this term. Dr Renee and her family have been such a blessing to our College and, although we are sad we are also excited for them as they relocate to a much cooler climate in Tasmania. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly express my deep gratitude for her dedication and impact on our students. Dr Renee's work has been invaluable, and we pray for blessing for her and the Louwen-Skovdam family and their next chapter.

I also want to take this opportunity to remind our college community that respect and good manners remain central to who we are. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in our interactions with one another, let’s continue to uphold these values in the way we speak and act. As we continue to train up our children, we are consistently blessed watching their growth and maturity in a world that is so very confusing.

Finally, a special shout-out to our Teacher Aides. Their tireless efforts, patience, and care does not go unnoticed. They consistently play a vital role in supporting our students and strengthening the culture of our college, and we are incredibly grateful for every one!

Thank you all for your continued partnership and commitment to our school community. May we continue to move forward in faith, unity, and purpose.

Bless you all,

Robyn Hair
