Ignite

Ignite is a wonderful program that assists Kindergarten children and their families with the transition to Prep.

Children enrolled at Calvary Early Learning Centre (ELC) have the opportunity to participate in weekly specialist lessons at the College, including Music, Health and Physical Education, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) as well as access to the College Library.  In addition to the specialist lessons, Calvary ELC children also attend College Chapel and have regular visits from the College Prep teachers throughout Term 4.

There are also opportunities for children enrolled at external child care centres to familiarise themselves with the College, including open classroom events, information evenings and other College events.

Ignite  |  Held annually in Term 4

As Prep is a foundation year level, we endeavour to make the transition into 'big school' as smooth as possible.  Calvary Ignite is a transition program that aims to prepare Kindergarten aged children for their first year of schooling at Calvary Christian College.  It assists future students and parents with the transition from an Early Learning Centre environment to formal schooling.

The program runs from the beginning of October through to Friday prior to school commencing. We launch the program with a Come and Play Event, followed by a variety of events that include a Parent Information Evening, a Come and Stay Event and a Meet your Teacher Event. All events are held at the College. These events give children an opportunity to engage in a variety of fun activities prior to the commencement of Prep giving them a sense of belonging and preparedness.  All information relating to our Ignite Program is emailed to families by our College Registrar.
